It's a very slow process - two steps forward, one step back - but I'm inching in the right direction. - Rob Reiner

Guess who's back....back again...

Shady's back?   No.....me silly!

Wahoo - I went to cycle class last night and didn't come home with a broken back.  The class is normally 2 hours, but I made a promise to myself to ease back into my workouts - so my plan was to only stay an hour.  I did just that.  My pride made me want to stay through the whole class - it was a little embarrassing to get up in the middle of class and head out - like I just couldn't hack it...but I knew better.  I didn't want to push to hard to fast and end up back in bed for another 2 weeks.  I stretched, iced and relaxed when I got home.  But I felt really good, and truly think I am on the mend for real!  This morning I have some minor soreness but nothing significant.  I think I should be ok, fingers crossed that it doesn't cause a flare up.

The weather was great here in KC yesterday - upper 60s.  Of course, just in time for the weekend, the rain and cold are heading in - and maybe if we are super lucky some snow flurries.  Gee...I sure hope so.  I haven't had enough of that yet.  I was hoping to get a short 3 to 4 mile outdoor run in on Saturday, but looks like another treadmill run.  Although I'm still thinking about doing a 5K tomorrow.  I need to make up my mind.  But it won't be long before all my runs - as well as bikes can be outdoors again.  Please bring on the sunshine!

  1. Wow, a triathlete that knows when and how to pull back, you need to reach 95% of us how to do that, there is a reason why 95% of triathletes are overtrained

  2. Even though it's tough to just get up and leave, you really did do the right thing. Hope you don't get snow there this weekend. If it's any consolation, I won't have any snow this weekend :D

  3. Good job on knowing just how much to do! I totally rode the spin bike at the gym yesterday instead of doing my ride in the rain and cold.
Bring on the sunshine IS RIGHT!
