So, I guess technically I now have a new Half Marathon PR - My over all time was 2:37:07 - even over the course of 5 runs, I still only managed an overall time of 11:59 per mile. I'll take it though, I'm just happy to be running again!

Today I had a "long" run of 6 miles scheduled. It was about 30 degrees, wind speed of 15-20 mph, and snow - Wahoo!! The ideal running conditions. Anyway, in spite of that I had one my my best runs yet. I felt strong and virtually pain free. I ran the first 5 solid; I had to stop and walk a bit in the 6th mile when I was heading straight up hill, into the wind, and the snow was pelting my face. My overall pace was 11:26 and at mile 5 my overall pace was 11:19. I was seriously happy with my run today. Check out mile 4 - SMOKING - at least for me :)
Miles - 6
Time - 1:08:37
Pace - 11:26
Splits: 1 - 11:32; 2 - 11:27; 3 - 11:18; 4 - 11:05; 5 - 11:13; 6 - 12:02
After my run, I came home and stretched and enjoyed a nice recovery smoothie.
Smoothie - YUM! |

Apparently I was interviewed without my knowledge by Jim at 50 After 40. While this interview is totally untrue - it is seriously funny! I may need to interview Jim soon for my blog :) If you aren't reading Jim's blog you should check it out. He's an amazing runner, super funny, and best of all my hubby!
Really good job! On running but also on making that super looking smoothie! Too bad we're not closer, I could've used someone to run with. All of my friends were racing today.
ReplyDeleteAny reason to eat cupcakes sounds good to me!
Congrats on finishing and PRing on the cupcake 1/2!!
ReplyDeleteGreat run for the cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteHow did I not know you and Jim are a couple?.I wonder how long it would have taken me to figure that out if you did say anything? Haha!
Your weather was WORSE than mine. We had cold and wind but it had stopped snowing when we ran.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I don't think I could handle that cold. I'm going for a run tonight (after UofA beats UConn) and it will be 70 degrees at dusk. Now, that is running weather!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your PR! I got a marathon PR during this race as well (3:47 -- which would NEVER happen in real life), but it is still fun to dream. :)
ReplyDeleteGooooooood job!
Great job on therun!!!

Glad you found me!!! :)
Great job! I saw this quote the other day and thought of you and your blog header:
ReplyDelete"Behold the turtle… He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out.” - James B. Conant
